Burn Nursing Jobs

Burn nursing jobs are responsible for providing care to their patients that are recovering from severe burns. Educating the patient and their family on the condition, an individual with a burn nursing job supports other nurses and the rest of the health care team.

A bachelor's of science degree in nursing, an associate's degree in nursing, or a diploma are three paths for prospective burn nursing job seekers. These educational programs can be found around the country at various institutions and range 2 to 4 years in length. The National Council Licensure Examination must also be passed to receive a nursing license before becoming employed.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics there will be a 22 percent increase in nursing employment over the 2008 to 2018 decade. The rate of employment will be significantly faster than the national average of all occupations. This demand will stem from the broadening of health care services, technology advances, and the rise in the elderly population. The employment climate is expected to be highly favorable.
