Camp Nursing Jobs

Camp nursing jobs serve the needs of campers and staff members during the duration of the schedule whether residential or day camp. Treating minor injuries or administering medication, individuals with a camp nursing job must have a broad range of medical knowledge and experience.

Educationally, camp nursing jobs will require a bachelor's of science degree in nursing, an associate's degree in nursing, or a diploma. These programs are offered around the country at a number of educational institutions and can take 2 to 4 years to complete depending on the program. After completion of the approved nursing program, the National Council Licensure Examination must be passed to obtain a nursing license before becoming employed.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics there will be a 22 percent increase in nurse employment over the 2008 to 2018 decade. This rate of employment will be much faster than the national average for all occupations with the demand coming from various avenues which will create favorable job opportunities for qualified nurses.
