Child Nursing Jobs

Child nursing jobs are responsible for providing health care services to children. Evaluating a patient's past medical history, administering treatment or medication, and completing tests are frequent activities of an individual child nursing job. These professionals can be found in a multitude of healthcare facilities including residential units to hospitals.

Educational requirements for these health careers involve gaining a diploma, Associate of Science degree, Bachelor's of Science degree from an accredited educational program. Ranging 2 to 4 years in length to complete, these educational programs can be found across the nation. To work in any state nursing licensure must be gained through passing the National Council Licensure Examination.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there is a projected increase of 22 percent in nursing employment over the course of the 2008 to 2018 decade. The growth will be much faster than the national average for all occupations with the demand a result of expansions in the health care system and technological advances.
