Utilization Management Jobs

Utilization management nursing jobs are responsible for deciding on the level of care for patients within their assigned area of responsibility. Most of these careers are found within larger facilities including hospitals or residential institutions. These nurses ensure that the needs of the patient are met with the top priority in correlation with resources.

Educational and training requirements for utilization management involve a diploma, an associate degree, or a bachelor's degree. The National Council Licensure Examination must be passed to gain licensure and becoming employed.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there is an expected 22 percent increase in employment over the course of the 2008 to 2018 decade. This rate of employment will be significantly faster than the national employment average.
