Administrator Jobs

Administrator jobs are responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the efforts of the doctors within a health care facility. The roles of this position can fluctuate depending on the size of the facility, number of administrators in the team, or area of expertise among other factors.

The educational requirements for a administrator career involve a master's degree in either health services administration, long-term care administration, public health, public administration, health sciences, or business administration. Bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs in health administration are offered by many colleges, universities, and public schools of health. All states also require administrators to have at least bachelor's degrees, complete a state approved training program, pass a licensing exam, and pursue continuing their education.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics there is a projected 16 percent increase in employment over the 2008 to 2018 decade. This rate will be faster than average for all occupations. The demand for these positions will be driven by the new expansions in health care, technological advances, and the nation's rising elderly population. Job prospects are expected to be great for professionals with experience.
