Resident Jobs

Surgery Resident jobs are physicians that are in training and have completed at least one year of their residency. Performing procedures under the close supervision of other fully qualified doctors, these physicians in training gain valuable knowledge about their career during residency before becoming certified.

The majority of individuals that are in this field have completed 4 years of undergraduate school and 4 years of medical school. These occupations provide an in-depth look into a branch of medicine as they see patients that suffer from a variety of ailments. After fulfilling tenure with surgery resident jobs, a fellowship program is usually completed to receive additional training.

Opportunities for these positions are expected to rise significantly from the 2008 to 2018 decade according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The rate of employment will be much faster than the average rate for all occupations. Continued job growth will be a result of an aging population, health care industry expansion, and technological advancements which will lower costs. Job prospects are expected to be great for qualified professionals as they make the transition to become surgeons.
